Lori Moffa
Lori Moffa is The Nonprofit Center’s director of consulting. Her appreciation and understanding of the role of the consultant stems from her own extensive experience as a consultant to a variety of nonprofits and as a professional whose role has been to work with groups of consultants. For over 20 years Lori has worked in the nonprofit sector in a variety of roles. At United Way of King County, Seattle, she recruited and managed a corps of consultants, including some volunteer, to provide technical assistance and training to nonprofit organizations.
During her many years in Philadelphia nonprofits, Lori has worked for the United Way of Gloucester County determining community needs, reviewing funding applications and distributing funds to area organizations, and as a fundraising professional for the Philadelphia Zoo, Mercy Health System, and the Arthritis Foundation.
One of her most significant career accomplishments was the founding of the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce’s Nonprofit Council in 1995. Lori spent 8 years at the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce in various roles eventually producing educational programming for small business owners and employees. In these roles she noticed there was nothing addressing the unique needs of the Chamber’s significant number of nonprofit members. The Nonprofit Council was created to educate and assist this unique group.
As the Director of Consulting at The Nonprofit Center, Lori is responsible for recruiting and managing a network of over 40 consultants and interim executive directors. She also matches the consultants with organizations in need of technical assistance and manages all aspects of these engagements
