    Michael Smith, Ph.D. is chair of the Department of Communication at La Salle University, where he is also an associate professor.  He was formerly director of the graduate program in Professional and Business Communication.  He teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in public relations, organizational communications and conflict.  He has worked with a variety of nonprofits, including the American Heart Association, Cultural Center for Art and Historical Artifacts, the Greater Philadelphia Coalition Against Hunger, and the World Meeting of Families, and has presented crisis communication training to organizations throughout the country and region.
