About Michael Matthews
Michael received his Bachelors of Arts and Masters of Liberal Studies from the University of Miami, Florida and a Certificate in Non Profit Management from Case Western Reserve University. With 21 years of experience, he has served as the Associate Director of Neighborhood Leadership Institute, an organization whose mission is to develop grassroots resident leadership and served as the Project Director for MyCom, a youth development network founded by the Cleveland Foundation and Cuyahoga County, through its Families and Children First Council, that brings together over 750 partners in 22 neighborhoods across Cuyahoga County to create an effective system of support for youth, from kindergarten through graduation. In this role, Michael managed an annual average budget of over nine million dollars and worked collaboratively with the MyCom Steering Committee consisting of representatives from the City of Cleveland, United Way of Greater Cleveland, Cuyahoga County through its Family and Children’s First Council, the Cleveland Foundation and Executive Leadership from urban and suburban school districts.
